Come and join the Freeport East team!

We are looking for two project delivery officers to join our small, innovative and dynamic team to help us deliver the aims and objectives of Freeport East.

Our freeport is one of 12 freeports across the UK. Backed by government, we collaborate with local authorities, leading international investors, high-potential local businesses and regional universities to drive investment, growth and productivity and bring positive change to our region that will last for generations to come. This includes creating thousands of jobs in the area, boosting skills for local workers, and accelerating the region’s commitment to decarbonisation through sustainable development and low carbon energy investments.

As we forge ahead with the delivery of our strategies, supporting our development sites to attract new investment,  and pursuing ambitious innovation, skills and net zero initiatives, as a project delivery officer you will provide delivery support on a wide range of impactful regional initiatives including:

• Tackling long-standing socio-economic challenges and supporting business growth across our tax sites and wider region;
• Unlocking sustainable growth at our development sites by investing in infrastructure and attracting a range of attractive investors and employers;
• Creating an ecosystem where innovation can thrive, attract new investment and deliver benefits for our local area;
• Acting as a catalyst to drive decarbonisation in the region and beyond through impactful initiatives such as our Green Corridor Partnership with East Midlands Freeport, delivery of greater clean energy provision in our local area and implementation of our Innovation and Skills and Clean Growth Fund business support schemes.

Please read our website and recent news stories for further details on our current initiatives and priorities.

With experience in project management, a strong attention to detail and a good team worker, you will also have a flexible attitude and be willing to work from our Head office in Harwich for up to 3 days per week as well as travel across our multiple development sites on a regular basis. Ideally you will also have some experience in one or more of the subject areas in which Freeport East operates, such as clean growth, innovation, inward investment, skills, public policy and so on.

We offer an inclusive working environment that supports you and empowers you to take ownership of your work. You will also benefit from:

• Salary of up to £40,000 depending on experience
• Permanent, full-time contract
• From 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
• Generous employer pension scheme of up to 6% employer contributions.
• Group life assurance scheme for up to 4x annual salary.
• Access to a range of saving benefits including discounts on shopping and holidays as well as salary-sacrifice schemes for leasing cars and the purchase of bicycles.
