Rux Energy, an innovator in hydrogen storage solutions based in Sydney, Australia, is excited to announce the opening of its first UK office in Harwich, Essex. This strategic expansion marks a significant milestone in Rux Energy’s mission. As Rux’s first office outside of Australia, this new facility will advance sustainable energy solutions and support the global transition to a hydrogen economy.
The engineering office will serve as a hub for Rux Energy’s operations in the UK and Europe, facilitating closer collaboration with key partners and stakeholders in the region as well as assisting in the delivery of two Innovate UK funded innovation programmes of which Rux are consortium members. The office will also play a crucial role in the development and deployment of Rux Energy’s revolutionary patented nanoporous materials, which are designed to enable efficient, safe, and low-cost hydrogen storage.
“We are thrilled to establish our European presence in Harwich, a location that aligns perfectly with our strategic goals and commitment to sustainability,” said Dr Jehan Kanga, Founder and CEO of Rux Energy. “This new office will allow us to better serve our customers and partners, and help accelerate the adoption of hydrogen as a clean energy source.”
The Harwich office is situated at the centre of Freeport East, one of the UK’s new freeports which has a green hydrogen hub as its heart to supports the UK’s decarbonisation ambitions. This proximity will enable Rux Energy to contribute to local economic growth and job creation, while also advancing the development of green hydrogen technologies.
Rux Energy’s expansion into Harwich is supported by strong partnerships and strategic support from Freeport East as well as the Universities of Suffolk and Cranfield having signed MOU’s with all three organisations. The company is committed to creating a positive environmental impact and achieving significant milestones by 2027.
